Cody Gibbs with his dog

Hi there, my name is Cody.

I specialize in scaling Shopify brands. In the past I built two DTC brands from zero to 7 figures while managing $20M+ per year in ad spend for Fortune 500 companies. I'm looking for two 7-figure brands who want to reach 8-figures in the next 24 months.

years growing DTC brands

Too big to DIY. Too small to hire a growth team.

An agency runs the ads. A freelancer does email. Someone else touches the site. Everyone reports their own win, and nobody owns the number that decides whether you're actually growing: daily contribution margin. So by default, the head of growth is you, after you finish running the rest of the company.

The obvious fix is a real growth leader. A good one costs $250K and wants a team. The agencies with senior operators want brands already past $10M. So you're stuck in the middle.

I've been in your shoes, and I know how hard this stage is.

I spent years as head of growth for two Shopify brands on my own P&L. We bootstrapped both past seven figures with our own money in the ad account.

Before that, I sat on the agency side, managing more than $20M a year in paid social for Fortune 500 companies.

What you get is an owner's obsession with margin and a media buyer's sense of scale, in one person who owns the whole growth engine. AI and I do most of the heavy lifting, and I bring in vetted specialists for pieces like UGC and Google Ads, so you get a full team's output without paying for a full team. No hand-offs, no finger-pointing, and someone watching your contribution margin every day. It's the one number I report on, and the one I get judged by.

Ferret Growth

The $10M Growth Plan. Free if you qualify.

Step 1

Apply. About three minutes. I review every application myself, and if you qualify, I'll email you a link to book your kickoff call.

Step 2

Kickoff call. Sixty minutes, first thing. You give me read access to Shopify, your ad accounts, Klaviyo and your P&L, and we go through the business together. Then I spend the rest of the day inside your numbers.

Step 3

Your Path to $10M Growth Plan. Within 24 hours of the call, you get the plan: where you stand today and your first 90 days of moves. Then we talk about working together.

What's in it:

  • Conversion Rate Optimization. The key things that need to change on your site to turn more visitors into customers.
  • Scaling acquisition. Where your new customers come from, what each one costs, and which channels have room to scale.
  • Improving retention. What a customer is worth over time, and the fastest ways to get more of them buying again.
  • Your big bets. The products and channels to go all in on and the funnels we'll need to build in order to hit $10M+/year.
  • What working together would look like. Scope and timing if it's a fit. Engagements run $10K–$15K a month with no long-term contract.

It's free because it's also how I choose who to work with. If I think I can get you there, the plan comes with a proposal. If I don't, I'll tell you why, and the plan is yours either way.

Your options for growing your DTC brand.

Agencies rent you a team. Courses hand you homework. Freelancers hand you a to-do list. Ferret Growth builds the system inside your business, runs it, and leaves it with you.

Seven reasons NOT to hire me.

  1. 1

You want to go slow.Nothing wrong with that. I move fast, and if our speeds don't match, this won't work.

  2. 2

Your fundamentals aren't there yet.You need a healthy gross margin, a profitable business, and operations that can handle more orders. I drive growth. I don't run inventory, your 3PL, or fulfillment.

  3. 3

You did under $2M in the last 12 months. The full plan is for brands at $2M and up, but apply anyway and I'll send you some insights and resources!

  4. 4

You're not ready to make a big bet.The path to $10M requires focusing effort and resources on 1-2 key areas. That means saying no to smaller opportunities and distractions.

  5. 5

You want to DIY your way to $10M.I wish you the best, but sometimes with a partner (a senior growth expert who is not currently running your entire business) you can move faster.

  6. 6

You use undisclosed AI creators.I will not use AI-generated creators (unless animated), and I advise all brands I work with to avoid them for ethical and legal reasons.

  7. 7

You don't believe in your products.Growth pours fuel on what's already there. If you wouldn't buy your own products or recommend them to a friend, scaling just gets you more returns and bad reviews, faster.

I only take on two brands at a time.

That's how I can own your number instead of juggling a dozen accounts. It also means spots fill up. If you're ready to make your big bet, apply now. If it's a fit, I'll email you to set up your kickoff call. If both spots are taken, I'll add you to the waitlist and send you some useful resources in the meantime.
